東北の社会課題解決を目指す起業家に対し経営・資金調達支援を行う、一般社団法人WIT（ウィット）は、2016年5月13日、これまでの６団体に加えて、新たに４団体への経営支援提供を開始し、１団体との戦略パートナーシップを結ぶことを決定したことをお知らせいたします。
これらの計１１団体は、今年７月にWITが開催する「クロスボーダー・ラーニングジャーニー」～アメリカ合衆国と日本のビジネスや非営利セクターのプロフェッショナル２０名と共に事業成長のための協働を行うプログラム～ に参加する予定です。
WITは、東日本大震災の発生を受け、復興に取り組む社会起業家を支援するために2011年7月より活動を開始、これまでに女性エンパワメントや教育、地域づくり、貧困削減、介護予防などに取り組む団体への支援を行ってきました。震災から５年目を迎え、東北の社会起業がより持続可能に成長していくためには、国境とセクターの違い超えた実践的な連携が今だからこそ求められています。

《新規団体》
特定非営利活動法人 きずなメール・プロジェクト
活動地域：日本全国（宮城県石巻市を含む）
活動テーマ：「子育て支援メールサービスを通じた、「孤育て」（孤独な子育て）予防」

活動内容：産前から子どもが3歳になるまで、毎日子育てに関する情報が携帯メールで届く「きずなメール」を配信。二児の親としての経験を通じて、誰もがかけがえのない思いで新しい命の誕生を迎え、子育てができる社会の実現を目指し、2011年３月からメール配信を開始。以来全国約30の自治体等と連携し、きめ細やかな情報提供と不安解消に貢献している。
まんまるママいわて（任意団体）
活動地域：岩手県県南内陸部と沿岸部
活動テーマ：「助産師と地域の母親による産前産後の子育て支援」

活動内容：2011年9月に団体設立。東日本大震災をきっかけに、災害弱者である妊婦あるいは乳幼児を持つ母親を対象にした育児サロンを開設。毎回、専門家である助産師と、また栄養士や保健師等の専門家が参加する母親たちに育児のアドバイス等をできるという特徴を持っている。今まで、岩手県沿岸部被災地の久慈市・宮古市・大槌町・釜石市・陸前高田市、内陸部の遠野市・北上市・花巻市で活動。サロン回数200回以上、延べ2000人以上の母子が参加。今後、妊婦及び乳幼児を持つ母親たちの置かれている状況を、よりよいものに改善できるよう、さらに活動を拡大したいと願っている。
株式会社 明天
活動地域：福島県会津若松市
活動テーマ：「漆器の企画・販売・プロモーション」

活動内容：城下町会津に残る伝統工芸の作り手たちを応援しようと、2005 年、株式会社明天を設立。2013年より、会津漆器の工房と連携し、作り手（職人）と使い手（消費者）を繋ぐ新たな取り組み「テマヒマうつわ旅」を展開。2015年に約4年間の準備期間を経て、優しいかたちと心地よい手触りが評判の漆器「めぐる」を発売開始。
特定非営利活動法人 わたりグリーンベルトプロジェクト
活動地域：宮城県亘理郡亘理町
活動テーマ：「海岸林の育成・維持管理、並びに海岸林保全のための啓もう活動」

活動内容：東日本大震災で町民を津波から守って流出した海岸林を復活させるため、住民が中心となり、2011年に立ち上がったプロジェクト。約400年前に伊達政宗が始めた海岸林を、「町を守る海岸林育成」、「地域性を活かした海岸林づくり」「復興プロセスへの住民の主体的参画」を通じて、次世代へ継承すべく、苗木づくり、植樹、教育活動を行っている。
なお、世界ちょうどいい研究室（宮城県宮城郡松島町）とWITは、多様性と持続可能性を内包する経営の在り方を探求・発信していくために、戦略パートナーシップを結ぶことを決定しました。
WIT selected four social entrepreneurs to provide management support and launches strategic partnership with one social venture, in addition to its current portfolio of six social entrepreneurs, on May 13th, 2016.
These eleven social ventures, together with twenty leaders from diverse fields in the for-profit, nonprofit, and public sectors in the US and Japan, will participate in Cross-Sector Learning Journey that WIT hosts this July in Tohoku.
WIT has supported social entrepreneurs in Tohoku since 2011 July in areas including community development, poverty alleviation, women empowerment, preventive eldercare and more. Five years passed since the 3.11 disaster, WIT believes in the power of cross-sector and cross-border collaborations to accelerate and sustain the impact of social entrepreneurs in Tohoku and beyond.
《New Social Enterprises Joining WIT》
Kizuna Mail Project (Bonding Mail Project)
Location: Multiple regions of Japan including Ishinomaki, Miyagi
Theme: Daily email services to support pre/postnatal mothers and families
Founder: Yuki Oshima

What they do: Deliver daily emails about raising and nurturing children during pregnancy until three-year-old birthday, in collaboration with local governments and hospitals. Launched the service in March, 2011, to prevent isolation of newborn mothers. About 30 local governments in Japan use Kizuna Mail service.
Mammaru Mom Iwate
Location: Coastal and southern inland areas of Iwate
Theme: Pre/postnatal care by midwives and local mothers
Founder: Miyoko Sato

What they do: Started supporting disaster-affected pregnant women and newborn mothers in September 2011. In Iwate, where they don’t have enough midwives and mothers have to travel far to give births and see doctors, advice from Mamamaru Mom’s experts including midwives, dietitians and hygienists, and peer mothers are very helpful for vulnerable mothers and babies. Mammaru Mom has hosted more than 200 gatherings where 2000+ parents participated in coastal and inland areas of Iwate.
Meiten
Location: Aizu Wakamatsu, Fukushima
Theme: Revitalization of Japan lacquerware
Founder: Wataru Kainuma

What they do: Meiten was established in 2005 to support traditional craftsmanship in Aizu, an old castle town. Japan lacquerware (Shikki) became their focus products since 2013, when Meiten started experiential tours to connect Shikki users and artisans. After four years of product development, Meiten launched its first product line, Meguru.
Watari Green Belt Project
Location: Watari, Miyagi
Theme: Recovery of multi-purpose coastal forests
Founder: Kazuo Kao

What they do: Citizen-led project to rebuild coastal forests swept away by the 3.11 tsunami to protect the lives of coastal residents. The forests were originally planted 400 years ago. Watari Green Belt Project plant nursery trees, develop forests with bio diversity, and raise awareness about the values of coastal forests among younger generations.
